Duane Buford has spent more than three decades at the intersection of music, technology, and storytelling. From the stages of Ministry's Grammy-nominated recording period to the scoring stages of film and television, his career has been defined by a relentless curiosity about what sound can do — and a professional's hard-won understanding of how to make it work.

Born and raised in Chicago, Duane came up through a city that invented house music, shaped the blues, and built some of the most distinctive sound in American music. That DNA runs through everything he makes — from orchestral film cues to the electronic production work that connects his concert career to his sync licensing catalog.

His film and documentary work includes scoring for MechAssault, the landmark documentary Mandela in Chicago, and 70 Acres in Chicago: Cabrini Green — a project that brought the story of one of Chicago's most significant housing projects to a national audience. His commercial work spans major advertising agencies, with campaigns reaching audiences across television and digital platforms.

The Pro Digital Music platform grew out of a simple observation: the tools and knowledge that working composers rely on are scattered everywhere, gatekept behind expensive courses, or buried in forums full of bad advice. PDM is the resource Duane wished had existed when he was starting out — free tools, honest reviews, and production intel from someone who has actually been in the room.
